Sister Caroline is a married woman

This weekend we took part in Caroline's wedding. I was the matron of honor and our big baby was there every step of the way. We celebrated all weekend long beginning with Friday afternoon's luncheon at the Carolina Club. That evening was the rehearsal dinner at The Ferrington House. Uncle Mark made his famous video of favorite child photographs leading up to the time of Caroline and Greg's engagement. It was an awesome slide show. We had delicious southern style gourmet dining and I got to give a little toast to the adorable couple. We slept at The Franklin Hotel on Franklin Street, a stone's throw from the little house we lived in when we were at UNC. Saturday, Jason and I got a bite to eat at our favorite Ice cream shop, Lickity Split, and then got ready for the big event. Caroline and all the bride's maids met in the lobby and took a limo bus to the Duke Chapel. The chapel is soooooo beautiful. The detail in the glass and woodwork is something you have to see to believe. We helped Caroline get ready in her dress and took some photos around the chapel. Caroline was radiantly breathtaking. She was an exceptionally lovely bride. I will have to attach some photos when I get some. I had an awesome view of the ceremony at her side. Baby and I did pretty well at the ceremony, though we had to select some less than attractive shoes and my ankles were swollen by the end anyways, but otherwise a success. We posed for more pictures and then we were off to the reception at La Residence. It was a little warm but the gathering of friends and family didn't seem to mind. There was plenty of drinking and dancing for most guests at the event. Jason, Baby, and I had to retire a little early due to fatigue but a good time was had by all. It will be a day and night we will all remember. Many congratulations to Caroline and Greg and we are so glad that we could share in your joyous occasion.
